Real Madrid are currently second in La Liga. They’re six points behind leaders Barcelona but have a game in hand on their El Clasico rivals.
Losses to Lille and AC Milan in the Champions League didn’t go down well, but they’re still well placed to win trophies this season. Despite that, there’s been a panic feeling thrust upon the club in recent weeks and even the future of Carlo Ancelotti has been questioned.
Now, well known Spanish journalist Tomas Roncero has a plan… bring Casemiro back from Manchester United.
Yes, you read that correctly.
In a column for Spanish newspaper AS, Roncero has explained bringing the midfielder back from Manchester United is something of a daydream for him, and he’s put together a list of reasons why.
Roncero explains to a Spanish audience that since Erik ten Hag, who he dismisses as a ‘disastrous coach’, left Old Trafford, Casemiro has again become a leader for Manchester United.
The journalist believes the Brazilian would be able to do the same for Real Madrid in the second half of the current season. Despite doing better recently with the Red Devils, it’s insisted Casemiro ‘has a white heart’, with the insinuation being he’d be keen on the return.
Roncero ends by saying: ‘So let me daydream and tell you what I dreamed about. With Casemiro, we would definitely have had a brutal second half of the season. With him, everyone played better next to him. For Modric, Bellingham or Valverde, he would be a relief…’
There’s no mention of fees, and the player’s big wages at Manchester United aren’t even touched upon, and this feels like one man getting his heart’s desire out there.
