Earlier on Monday we covered a brief article from Marca, which pushed Southampton interest in Zouhair Feddal.
That interest is being pushed by Mauricio Pellegrino, according to the Spanish newspaper, and the former Alaves manager ‘hasn’t forgot’ the defender’s qualities, having worked with him last season.
Newcastle United have also been linked, and both Premier League clubs are named by Estadio Deportivo as competition for Real Betis.
Estadio Deportivo are a regional Seville sport newspaper, with good connections at both Betis and Sevilla. It’s explained that Betis are seeing competition for Feddal rise, and will now have to compete with both Southampton and Newcastle.
The player’s €3m buyout clause is no problem for any of the clubs, and likely a big reason why Betis, not flush with transfer cash, are interested in a summer deal.
Newcastle and Southampton would surely have Feddal as one of a list of several options, and Betis will hope the English clubs move on.
