Liverpool have been working to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson for months as clubs like Paris Saint Germain also show an interest in him.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who say the clubs interested in the player are ‘ready to start an auction’ for him.
The newspaper reports that the work being done at Atalanta isn’t going unnoticed and nor is the development of players such as Ademola Lookman and Ederson.
The latter has interest from across Europe, with the Premier League also keeping an eye on him and ‘the usual PSG’ in the mix and ready to start an auction.
He is particularly highly esteemed by Juventus, Manchester City and other Premier League clubs. Liverpool fall into the latter category and also tried to sign him in recent months but received ‘clear refusals’ from those in charge in Bergamo.
That’s something that has been widely reported in the last few months, particularly when Liverpool were hunting for a new midfielder in the summer transfer window.
They eventually focused on Martin Zubimendi but failed to get him and have since transformed Ryan Gravenberch into the defensive midfielder they wanted.
That may not have changed their plans with Ederson, though, who remains on the list according to Corriere dello Sport.
