One of the more drawn out Reading F.C. sagas in recent times appears to have come to an end.
This comes from Sky Germany, who explain the Royals’ Omar Richards, long courted by Bayern Munich, will indeed be moving to Bavaria come the end of the season.
The broadcaster, via their journalist Max Bielefeld, report that the player’s exit from Reading to the Bundesliga champions is a ‘done deal’, with the young defender having ‘passed his medical and signed a four-year contract until June 2025’.
The left-back, who has been at Reading since a move from Fulham in 2013, has been a key component of Veljko Paunovic’s plans at the Madejski this season, but with his contract expiring at the end of the campaign, Bayern Munich took their chance and ran with it.
During his lengthy time with the Championship side, Richards made 92 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring three goals along the way.
