Wolverhampton Wanderers fans should be really proud of the way the club has been seen in Europe lately.

As Nuno Espírito Santo’s side advanced to the Europa League group stage this week, their strength is being widely acknowledged by the media.

Some of these compliments can be seen in today’s edition of Turin newspaper Tuttosport. They react to Torino’s loss from last night as something normal, given Wolves’ superiority.

“It’s already finished. Turin’s European adventure is over. No guilt, since Toro probably caught the strongest team in these playoffs, who were strong both on the field and economically (100 million already placed only in the last market)”, Tuttosport writes.

Now after the playoffs, it’s time for Wolves to scare someone else. The club were drawed in Group K, along with Besiktas, Braga and Sparta Praga.

And the Portuguese media have already been reacting to it, this time saying the Premier League side is the one to be beaten.

“It was, by chance, the most unwanted name in Pot 3, Wolverhampton, and it turned out face Braga”, Zero Zero writes. “Although they have been away from European competitions for many years, their last qualification was in the 1980/81 UEFA Cup, Nuno Espírito Santo’s Wolves are full of credits and many Portuguese: Rui Patrício, Rúben Vinagre, Roderick Miranda, Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and Pedro Neto, the latter was even raised at the Minho. But there are still those who know the Portuguese league well, such as Willy Boly, who has even worn the colors of Braga, and Raúl Jiménez.”

This is a scenario which Wolves fans probably couldn’t even imagine three years ago, and one they should fully embrace as there could be a fun ride ahead.
