Tiémoué Bakayoko isn’t having a good start to his AC Milan stay.

The midfielder has seen his career on a slippery slope since leaving AS Monaco for Chelsea, and it’s not got much better in Italy.

Unable to show his best form under Antonio Conte last season, Maurizio Sarri clearly wanted someone more mobile in midfield and should the former Napoli manager remain in charge it’s hard to see a way back for Bakayoko.

Going on loan to Milan isn’t such a bad thing and it was a fresh chance for the 24 year old to shine, but it seems to be creating more problems than it’s solving.

Bakayoko only has 84 minutes of Serie A football, spread over four substitute appearances, and Gennaro Gattuso hasn’t been impressed.

Getting the full match against Olympiacos in the Europa League, he again failed to shine despite Milan winning the match 3-1.

Calciomercato call it ‘another flop performance’ and explain the chances of making the loan move permanent are far away.

AC Milan are paying €5m for the loan and can pay another €35m for a full transfer. Calciomercato believe the whole Bakayoko thing, from moving to Chelsea and then going to Milan, could be ‘a rather expensive mistake’ for the two clubs.

It’s also stated he’s on a salary of €5m, after tax, a season.
