Kalidou Koulibaly is one of an endless number of players to have been linked with Real Madrid over the past couple of weeks.
At this point, it’s worth pointing out the links, especially from the media closest to the Spanish club, haven’t been strong.
Despite that, CalcioNapoli24 have presented as exclusive on Friday afternoon which very much includes Manchester United. It caught the attention at Sport Witness, if only because it’s a good enough distraction from the UK disintegrating constitutionally.
Here goes.
It’s claimed that Raphael Varane’s brother, and his new representative, have offered the player to Manchester United.
They’re entered into ‘serious negotiations’ over a move to Old Trafford, but the player’s wages are an issue, even more so than the transfer fee… which is also a problem.
Real Madrid have been clear with Manchester United, with CalcioNapoli24 saying the English club have been told it’s €80m for the Frenchman.
That seems somewhat reasonable for the 25 year old World Cup winner, who has been almost completely free of injuries this season and was largely free of them during the last campaign too.
But, no.
It’s claimed Manchester United don’t want to pay that amount.
Varane wants to move, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to like him, but the club, at this moment, ‘is not willing to satisfy the demands’ of Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Kalidou Koulibaly must wait and watch, because it’s stated that he’d be first choice to replace the defender in Madrid. To be clear, Koulibaly to Madrid depends on Varane, but Varane to *anywhere* doesn’t depend on Madrid getting the Napoli man.
Now, if all of this is true then it could well rattle the cages of Manchester United fans. Raphael Varane, presented on a platter, for €80m… WHAT MORE COULD WOODWARD WANT?
Before you carry burning torches towards Old Trafford, remember this is just one in a series of claims.
