Ralf Rangnick’s arrival at Manchester United may ‘throw a spanner in the works’ for Feyenoord, who want to sign Amad Diallo on loan in January.
Diallo was a target for the Dutch side in the summer and he was happy to go, but a thigh problem ended up ruining the move and Feyenoord signed Reiss Nelson instead.
That did not end their interest though and several reports in the last few months have indicated that they will make a move to try and sign him to a long-term loan deal in January.
Indeed it has been reported that Diallo is ‘convinced’ the move would be the best one for him, with that followed by a report that Manchester United are willing to help financially.
That was under the old regime, though, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now having been replaced by Ralf Rangnick. That’s led to a change in strategy at Old Trafford and so now what will happen with Diallo remains to be seen.
Feyenoord Transfermarkt covers that today and states that Rangnick’s arrival could ‘throw a spanner in the works’ as his intentions for Diallo are as yet unknown.
He may want to keep Diallo around for the time being, or even believe that a loan deal elsewhere may be better for his development.
If Manchester United do remain open to a ‘long-term rental’, though, then Feyeneed remains the ‘desired destination’ for the time being.
It seems this is then a case of wait and see, with Rangnick needing time to get his feet under the desk and make some decisions before Feyenoord will know if they can finally get their man.
