German outlet Bild today explains the situation lived by Manuel Akanji at Borussia Dortmund.
There’s just over a year left in his contract, and while the Bundesliga side try to negotiate a new deal with him, there’s the threat from someone who wants to take him out of the club.
That’s Manchester United, who according to Bild, has manager Ralf Ragnick wishing for the ‘defensive specialist’ in the squad.
It’s said the Red Devils’ boss is offering the player a salary worth €15m, which is more than the €8m that Borussia Dortmund are putting on the table.
Another advantage that Manchester United could have is that Akanji reportedly ‘dreams’ of moving to the Premier League, and the doors could be open for him at Old Trafford.
Bild points out, however, that Borussia Dortmund have a strong argument for him to stay.
That’s the place they should have in the Champions League, which is not guaranteed by Manchester United, which is why the German side will keep negotiating his extension.
