There’s now a second source in Portugal reporting Rangers’ chase for Sporting midfielder Miguel Luís.
It all started on Wednesday, when newspaper O Jogo said Steven Gerrard’s side had ‘shown their interest’ in signing the player on a loan deal.
Now it’s time for A Bola to back up the claims. They say this interest has shown up in the past few days, and the contacts ‘have been made formal’ already.
It’s claimed Rangers have been trying to convince Sporting to loan Miguel Luís out for the rest of the season. There are no details about a clause to make the transfer permanent.
A Bola writes that the move could be seen by Miguel Luís as a step forward and a chance for him to play more, since he’s unlikely to get many minutes for Sporting, even with Bruno Fernandes’ departure to Manchester United.
O Jogo had reported that manager Silas ‘wouldn’t be against’ the move, so it sounds quite possible that Rangers could get a deal before tomorrow.
