Just under a week ago, there was a bit of good news for Rangers fans regarding the potential arrival of Bongani Zungu from Amiens SC.
The midfielder appeared to be on his way to Ibrox, and for fear of anything happening, sat out the Ligue 2 side’s friendly against Chambly at the weekend.
However, things have been rather quiet since then, and that’s because there appears to be a problem with the player himself.
According to Le 11 Amiénois, despite Zungu and Rangers agreeing on the contract waiting for him at Ibrox, it’s the player’s ‘physical condition’ currently stalling the move.
That’s according to their own information, and, for now, Steven Gerrard’s target is remaining in France, where he continues to train with Amiens.
No more detail is given, but should that cause what seemed like a close to being done deal to fail, there are also clubs in Spain and Italy who remain interested.
