There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Trabzonspor are showing interest in Rangers midfielder Todd Cantwell.
The 26-year-old wants to leave Ibrox this summer and was left out of Philippe Clement’s squad for the game against Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday night.
Karadeniz Gazete report a Trabzonspor director flew to the UK on a private jet this week to hold transfer talks with Cantwell. It’s claimed the meeting was positive and that the former Norwich City man is open to the move to Trabzon.
The Turkish media outlet say an official offer is now likely to come in for the Rangers player as speculation grows over his future with the Scottish club.
This week Cantwell played in a Rangers B game against Middlesbrough reserves. He’s also reportedly been training with the Rangers youth team after handing in a transfer request, and wasn’t involved in the opening day game against Hearts.
Cantwell made 44 appearances for the Glasgow club last season, scoring eight goals. His future could now be in Turkey, and that may be down to what Trabzonspor are offering.
