There’s a claim in the Turkish that Besiktas have stepped up in their pursuit for Rangers defender Rıdvan Yılmaz.
There’s been reports in this transfer window that Rangers could offload the Turkey international despite him getting starts under Philippe Clement in recent weeks.
Fotomac today report on the latest developments regarding Besiktas’ interest in the Rangers left back and they say an offer has been made with the Ibrox club.
It’s claimed the Black Eagles want to loan their former player until the end of the season, with an option to purchase him for €3m in the summer.
However, Rangers will only accept €5m for the 23-year-old after purchasing him from Besiktas for €4m in 2022. Negotiations are now expected to continue as both clubs look to reach an agreement. Besiktas have the luxury that the Super Lig transfer window only closes on February 11th.
The young left back came through the Besiktas youth system and went on to play 62 games for the Istanbul side before his transfer to the Glasgow club.
Yilmaz has made 20 appearances for Rangers this season and is contracted to the Scottish club until June 2027.
