Italian outlet Calcio Mercato features a piece about Rangers and their ‘doubtful redemption’ over Juventus loanee Aaron Ramsey.
The story doesn’t bring any breaking news on the situation, as Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Rangers don’t even have an option to buy the midfielder, and actually comes up to explain how the scenario stands.
Calcio Mercato points out that when letting Ramsey go to Ibrox in January, their wish was to tie a loan to an obligatory permanent move or an option for it. That wasn’t found in talks with Crystal Palace and Newcastle United, so they ended up accepting the dry spell with Rangers.
Now the Old Lady hopes that the midfielder’s time in Scotland will be good enough to ‘reactivate the market interests around him’, and that’s why his transfer situation will be discussed in the summer, when there’ll be one year left in his deal with the Serie A giants.
Calcio Mercato claims Rangers will have a ‘preferential lane’ in case they do want to keep Ramsey, who only has four appearances for the Ibrox side so far.
The price for the transfer, however, isn’t even mentioned, as that shall depend on his performances until the summer and the clubs that will be interested in signing him.
