While Juventus continue their attempts to claw back their way up the table on the pitch, they continue to be looked at off it in the plusvalenza affair.
Some recent deals are being looked at for inflated valuations and the such, meaning players and agents alike are being questioned in court..
Among those called up is the representative of Rangers FC loanee Aaron Ramsey, who was sent to Ibrox by Juventus to get the game time he would never be given by Max Allegri.
The Welshman has dipped in and out of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s squad, but has found a bit more consistency of late over the past three games, scoring two goals in the process.
It’s been rumoured that Rangers have a right of first refusal for Ramsey, but whether he remains at Ibrox going forward remains to be seen.
Either way, his agent, David Baldwin, has been ‘summoned’ by the Public Prosecutor’s office of Turin for the beginning of this week as the Guardia di Finanza investigate Juventus’ accounts, according to Calciomercato.it.
As for Ramsey’s future at Rangers or elsewhere, it’s stated that Federico Cherubini and his associates ‘will try to find a solution for the Welshman’, which could involve a ‘possible termination of the contract with an attached severance pay’.
Should the Wales International be free, perhaps the Ibrox side would be able to convince him to stay for a couple more years at a reduced wage?
We’ll have to wait and see.
