According to a claim in the Turkish media, it’s looking unlikely Rangers defender Rıdvan Yılmaz will be leaving Ibrox before the Super Lig window closes tomorrow.
There’s been endless reports that Rangers could offload the Turkey international despite him getting starts under Philippe Clement in recent weeks.
Sporx today cover the latest developments regarding the future of the Rangers left back following reports of interest from his former club Besiktas, and also Galatasaray.
It’s claimed the 23-year-old isn’t interested in returning to the Super Lig in this window and will remain with the Scottish club. With the youngster now getting game time under Clement it seems he’s happy to remain in Glasgow.
Previous reports in the Turkish press said the player was unhappy with the recent contract offer from Besiktas and that Rangers had also rejected the Istanbul side’s latest bid. Rangers were said to be looking for offers in the region of €5m after purchasing him for €4m from Besiktas in 2022.
Yilmaz has made 20 appearances for Rangers this season and is contracted to the Scottish club until June 2027.
