On Thursday, FCUpdate reported Rangers have shown interest in AS FAR’s Hamza Igamane. This was mentioned in a report that explained Philippe Clement’s side have joined PSV Eindhoven in the race to sign Excelsior Rotterdam star Couhaib Driouech.

Rangers have made progress in their efforts to sign Igamane, according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna.

He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to claim the 21-year-old’s move to Rangers should be formalised in the ‘coming hours’. Philippe Clement’s side will pay €2m plus bonuses to the Moroccan side to secure his services.

Aouna states the Morocco U23 international has ‘obtained his visa’ to make a trip to Scotland to seal a move to Rangers this summer. The journalist adds the forward is set to sign a five-year deal at Ibrox.

Foot Mercato, via their website, have also relayed this information. They claim Igamane was issued a visa after he ‘reached an agreement’ with Rangers.

AS FAR promoted Igamane to their first team in 2021. Since then, he was used mainly as the No.9, while operating in other attacking positions on a few occasions. The Moroccan has scored 16 goals and registered eight assists in 58 games.

The attacker will continue his career in Scotland with Rangers.
