According to TMW, Rangers have made contact with Feyenoord coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst over the vacant Ibrox job.
The former Rangers star is one of the favourites with the bookies to succeed Pedro Caixinha at the Scottish Premiership side.
Caixinha was sacked by Rangers last month, but under caretaker manager Graeme Murty they’ve managed to steady the ship by picking up maximum points against Hearts and Partick Thistle in recent weeks.
However, despite the efforts of Murty the Rangers hierarchy are still looking to bring in somebody to replace Caixinha and Van Bronckhorst is said to be in the mix.
The former Netherlands would likely be a popular choice with the Ibrox faithful, following his time at the club. However, these claims should be questioned given it’s come from the Italian media, especially with TMW’s recent coverage over the vacant manager jobs in the UK.
Claiming exclusive after exclusive, the Italian website have been all over the place, and there’s no reason to expect it to be any different for Rangers and the Scottish Premiership.
The Dutch media have played down Van Bronckhorst returning to Rangers as the Dutchman is still focused on his job at Feyenoord.
