Rangers have been linked with a move for Eibar midfielder Jota by the Spanish media. The 25-year-old is currently on loan with the La Liga club from Brentford, but Rangers manager Mark Warburton is keen for a reunion with his former player.

Spanish newspaper Marca have today reiterated Rangers are keen on Jota, and that the attacking midfielder would be interested in a move to the SPL side.

The Spaniard played under Warburton when the Rangers boss was the manager of Brentford, and he will try to convince Jota with a move to Glasgow and Ibrox. That shouldn’t be too difficult, because Marca say Jota is ‘seduced’ by the chance of working with Warburton again.

Jota is considering ending his time at Eibar despite playing 18 league games since he rejoined the Spanish side 12 months ago. With uncertainty whether he would be in the plans of the coaching staff at Brentford, Rangers could step in and land the player.

With Rangers attacking midfielder Niko Kranjcar rupturing his knee ligaments in November, Jota would be seen as a like for like replacement for the Croatian.
