Rangers FC are one of several sides interested in a move for Racing Santander youngster Pablo Torre.
That’s according to Noticias de Gipuzkoa, who say Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side have ‘knocked on the door’ for the 18-year-old and want to bring him to Ibrox.
They explain that Torre is being eyed by Real Sociedad, who have brought his name up as part of negotiations for fellow youngster Jorge Martínez-Losa.
Torre is the ‘latest jewel in the crown’ at Racing’s youth system, and La Real have been interested in him for some time. Indeed, Jokin Aperribay was on the verge of signing him two years ago.
Since then, his list of suitors has grown, and he now has ‘important girlfriends’ despite his young age and lack of experience.
In addition to Real Sociedad, Real Madrid, Valencian, and Rangers have ‘also knocked on his door’ of late.
Torre currently has a release clause of €8m, but the financial situation at Racing is ‘precarious’, so it has not been ruled out that he could leave for €2-2.5m instead.
That’s a figure that Rangers could presumably afford, given it’s hardly a huge one by any means, but it seems if they do want Torre at Ibrox, they’ll have to fight several clubs for his signature.
