You might have noticed a growing number of reports that Bongani Zungu, currently at Amiens SC in France, is on his way to Rangers.
The move hasn’t been made official yet, but the general consensus in France is that the South Africa international will be playing at Ibrox next season under the orders of Steven Gerrard.
A transfer fee of around €4m has been mentioned, and it appears Amiens aren’t keen to let anything happen to their player between now and that money reaching their bank account.
According to Le 11 Amiénois, the midfielder is set to sit out the upcoming friendly on Saturday against Chambly, as the Ligue 2 side start their preseason.
Zungu will be joined by Ulrick Eneme-Ella (injured) and Cheick Timité, who will sit the fixture out due to personal reasons.
As for Moussa Konaté and Aurélien Chedjou, it’s stated that they are still a bit short fitness wise to be playing a game.
This will be good news for Rangers, who won’t want a potential future signing getting injured in what is essentially a meaningless game for both player and club alike.
