Rangers and Hull City have joined Hamburg SV in the chase for KVC Westerlo’s Matija Frigan this summer.

Rangers and Hull City appointed Russell Martin and Sergej Jakirović respectively as their managers earlier this month. The 22-year-old previously played under new Hull City boss at HNK Rijeka.

Five days ago, we covered claims from Belgium that Rangers can hijack the striker from the German club’s clutches. On Thursday, Index.hr reported Jakirović has asked Hull City to sign his former player and he’s open to moving to England.

Croatia’s Sportske Novosti brings the latest on the Scottish club, Hull City and Hamburg interest in Frigan.

He managed 14 goals and four assists in the recently concluded season and is attracting interest. He’s now expected to move.

Transfermarkt currently values him at €7.5m, and Sportske Novosti claim Rangers and Hamburg are both willing to offer this figure to Westerlo.

Rangers, Hull City and the German club are all in the race, and the report states Russell Martin’s side are the ‘main favourite’ to secure Frigan’s services. There’s no explanation for why the Ibrox club are the favourites.
