Ramon Carvalho: Man United impressed by youngster
Manchester United have shown interest in the Internacional midfielder Ramon Carvalho, a source has told Sport Witness.
Over the past year Manchester United have been ramping up their scouting system and that has spiked even more since Jose Mourinho joined the club.
Officials from Manchester United are currently in Brazil to watch the Copa Ipiranga Sub-20, and after scouting the youngster in his first game, they were left really impressed with what they saw.
The midfielder made two assists in the 4-1 win over Corinthians, and is now set to be watched more attentively by the scouts.
After spells at Desportivo Brasil and Palmeiras, Carvalho signed with Internacional in March 2016. The problem for Internacional is that the club only offered him a one-year deal, which could turn out to be a huge mistake.
Carvalho is 19 years of age, so he can leave Brazil for Europe for free as soon as his contract expires. Even if Internacional offer an extension, there’s not much they can do in case a club like Manchester United come to get him.
The issue of a work permit would have to be dealt with, unless Carvalho has European heritage and the matching EU passport, or if Manchester United planned to loan him outside of the UK.
Scouts from Arsenal, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint Germain, AS Roma, Pescara and PSV are also present at the tournament.
