Brazilian side Botafogo officially announced this week the arrival of John Textor, who bought the club, and are set to make big investments in new signings.
From the many names who’ve been linked to them lately, there’s been some special attention to Manchester United star Edinson Cavani, who the businessman recently claimed to be a big fan of.
So as Spanish outlet Marca today writes about the ‘ambitious’ project at Botafogo and the ‘rain of millions’ that is about to come at the Rio de Janeiro side, they point out a couple of players who could soon join them.
It’s pointed out that this ‘new economic muscle’ could indeed attract Cavani to the club, where the striker would ‘give another dimension’ to their new aspirations.
Cavani, who’s also been linked to Spanish clubs, has a contract with Manchester United expiring at the end of the season.
It’s been a tough year for the Uruguayan striker, who only has two goals in 15 appearances since last summer, and has repeatedly been unavailable.
