Recent reports in the English and Serbian press have linked Liverpool attacker Lazar Markovic with a move to Fenerbahce.
Fanatik have reported on the Liverpool player’s proposed to Fenerbahce, with claims from the Turkish newspaper the Yellow Canaries are looking to loan the Serbian international.
Markovic was unable to find a new club this summer, and subsequently remained with the Premier League side. The player’s chances at Liverpool look limited under Jurgen Klopp, and Fenerbahce could offer the Serbian an escape route.
The Turkish window only closes tomorrow, so Markovic signing for Fenerbahce can still happen. It’s been reported the Turkish club could sign the Liverpool outcast for a reduced loan fee before the deadline.
A return to Fenerbahce might be the best option for Markovic, otherwise it’s likely he’ll be part of Liverpool’s U23 squad before the next window opens in England.
With the summer arrivals at Anfield it’s unlikely Markovic will get much playing time at Liverpool in the coming months. Serbia are on the verge of qualifying for the next year’s World Cup, and he needs to be playing regular football.
