Over the past few days, we’ve covered multiple reports which stated Aston Villa have identified Sevilla’s Loïc Badé as a target to improve their defence.
Last weekend, Aston Villa director Monchi was in Spain and held talks with the La Liga side over a move for the defender.
On Thursday, we relayed news from Spain that the 24-year-old has given his approval to Aston Villa, while Sevilla are waiting for their offer.
According to Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, the deal to take the centre-back to the Premier League side is ‘quite hot’. He feels a move to Villa Park will be important as it’ll help him take the next step in his career.
Monchi is well aware his former club want a fee between €25-30m to sell the Frenchman.
Earlier claims have stated Sevilla are awaiting the Villans’ offer, but it won’t arrive until Diego Carlos leaves Unai Emery’s side. Monchi is working on offloading the 31-year-old and this is a ‘preliminary step’ to table a bid for Badé.
Sevilla considered including Carlos as part of the deal for Badé but Aston Villa want €12m for the Brazilian, which the Andalusian club can’t meet.
Emery’s side are trying to place Carlos elsewhere and once his exit is formalised, the report states they will ‘launch an offer’ of around €25-30m for Badé.
