Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all chasing Napoli’s Fabian Ruiz, if reports coming out of Spain and Italy are to be believed.

On December 27th, we covered claims from AS that the midfielder’s first option is to join Zinedine Zidane’s side, despite City and Barcelona knocking on the door for transfer.

Sport now claims the 23-year-old has an ‘agreement with Real Madrid’ as he would have already said yes to join them in the summer. It’s also claimed Zidane would consider the Serie A star an interesting reinforcement in the centre of the pitch.

Fabian gave preference to the 13-time European champions over the La Liga winners when Ernesto Valverde was in charge at the Camp Nou.

Barca sacked Valverde on January 13th and replaced him with Quique Setién and the latter’s arrival could ‘change the situation’.

Sport adds Setién has the Napoli midfielder as one of the key players to strengthen Barcelona’s core for next season.

Fabian has already played under Setién when they were at Real Betis and the new Barcelona manager could be a factor in helping the Catalan club take him ‘away from’ Real Madrid.
