Queens Park Rangers are in the picture to sign KRC Genk goalkeeper Paul Nardi in the summer window.
French journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state that QPR are ‘pushing hard’ to secure his services.
The journalist hasn’t provided any further information on QPR’s pursuit of the 30-year-old.
The Championship side can sign the stopper on a free transfer as his deal expires at the end of this month.
According to Walfoot, the Jupiler Pro League side have decided against offering him a new deal, and this is a ‘big blow’ for the Frenchman.
A foot injury forced him to spend time away from the pitch between November and April, and this could partly be the reason for Genk not offering him an extension.
Nardi wants to continue in Belgium, and the report says KV Kortrijk are interested in his services on a free transfer, while Sporting Charleroi and KAA Gent are also among his options. This would certainly not please QPR.
Walfoot, who make no mention of QPR or clubs outside Belgium, claim Nardi will evaluate every option before making a decision on his future.
In other words, Martí Cifuentes’ side would have to tussle with other clubs to sign Nardi this summer.
The goalkeeper kept three clean sheets and conceded 16 goals from 14 appearances last season.
