Crystal Palace have been pushed forward as the next possible destination for Real Sociedad’s Sheraldo Becker.
Last Tuesday, Estadio Deportivo stated the Eagles want to sign the 29-year-old in January. It was also said Crystal Palace want the deal sorted out before the winter market opens.
The winger hasn’t scored a goal or registered an assist after seven games this season. This didn’t stop the Crystal Palace claims, but a fresh incident off the pitch may make the Eagles think twice.
At the weekend, he was involved in a nightclub drama. This may see Oliver Glasner’s side change their stance on the Suriname international.
AS say La Real fans confronted the player at the entrance of a nightclub in San Sebastian, after their draw against Real Valladolid on Saturday. The report claims the Crystal Palace target was ‘involved in a fight with other people’.
This incident took place at the entrance of nightclub, GU San Sebastián. It was recorded and posted on social media, and the player then issued an apology.
“Last night, while I was with my wife and family, I came to their defence in an unpleasant incident, and I’m not proud of the image given. I apologise and I have failed you,” he said.
Real Sociedad have one win after seven league games. Fans believe there was no need for Becker to be at GU, hours after their goalless draw against Real Valladolid.
He’s held discussions with Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay about this incident. AS say the club will decide on whether to take action against him.
The website states: ‘The club understands that he reacts badly, even though they insult and attack him in a regrettable way. And they also believe that there is no justification for him being in a discotheque at that time after playing a match, because it was avoidable in the current situation.’
Last week, the Spanish press stated Crystal Palace want to wrap up the deal for Becker before the January window opens. The London club may revisit their stance on signing him, after the nightclub drama.
