Some night moves between Paris and São Paulo could mean big transfers news for Chelsea.
There’s a small battle for the Brazilian defender Rodrigo Caio going on, in which Napoli, Sevilla, Hamburg and Milan were all included. But now there’s another big pretender on the list.
According to Jorge Nícola, a PSG director called Rodrigo Caio’s father telling him that David Luiz could be sold to Chelsea at any time, and therefore they could be bidding for the São Paulo defender.
In contact with the journalist, the player’s father said: “We are waiting for developments.”
Although a story from L’Equipe suggested Chelsea’s bid for David Luiz was turned down, there’s confidence elsewhere that a deal is still possible.
Jorge Nícola publishes many transfer stories and so hasn’t got an amazing reputation in Brazil, but since he has quotes from Rodrigo Caio’s father, he obviously had a chat with him this morning. So the story makes sense, and is perhaps more trustworthy because the main focus of the claim isn’t David Luiz.
