Everton new signing Cenk Tosun has returned to Istanbul to pack his bags before permanently moving to England.
At the airport, Tosun was asked questions by the Turkish press about his transfer to Everton, following his record breaking move to the Goodison Park.
Tosun said as reported by Beinsports.tr: “I’m really happy and also really upset. It’s not an easy decision (to leave Besiktas), but I also want to say it’s my childhood dream to play in the Premier League. I’m also really proud of joining great and historical club like Everton.”
“I hope I can make the Turkish people proud. I want to thank everyone for their contribution.”
Last week it was officially confirmed Tosun would be joining Everton, after the Premier League side stepped up their pursuit of the 26 year old.
The Turkey international is expected to make his Everton debut against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, and he’ll be looking to replicate the form he’s shown in Turkey this season.
Tosun has been one of the standout players for Besiktas this campaign, and has excelled in the Champions League.
