Hellas Verona are interested in Ternana forward Felipe Avenatti, according to claims in the Italian media. The 24-year-old will be a free agent at the end of June, and he’s also been linked with a move to Leeds United in previous windows.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported Verona are keen on Avenatti as they look to bring in a forward this summer. The Italian side have just been promoted to Serie A after one season in the second tier, and are looking to bolster their squad in the next window.

It’s been claimed Verona have contacted the South American’s agent to come to an agreement over signing the forward. In January it was reported Avenatti would see out his contract with Ternana, leading to a scramble to sign the player this summer.

Leeds United could still be one of the clubs looking to snap the player up after their previous attempts to sign him. The Championship side made another approach for Avenatti in the last summer window, but were again unsuccessful.

Leeds United would face stiff competition to sign Avenatti, and it will take some convincing to bring the player to England over a move to Serie A.
