Nicola states São Paulo have already been notified about the Premier League side’s interest in their player.
In addition to this, there is a ‘promise from Nottingham Forest’ they will present an offer in the ‘coming days’ to secure the 20-year-old’s services.
The journalist furthers adds that for the club to carry out negotiations, they will first need an offer of at least around €6m.
‘Time is short’ for Nottingham Forest and they will have to present their offer ‘soon’. With São Paulo making their demands clear for Maia, a deal could be sealed quickly if their requests are met.
Maia has been in out of the starting lineup this term. He featured 19 times in the league, which includes nine substitute appearances.
