The recent sanctions at Chelsea have, of course, opened the eyes of many clubs who have been interested in players from the Blues. And with Juventus being interested in Jorginho for a long time, it’s no surprise they’re attentive to that situation as well.
As Italian outlet Calcio Mercato writes about this situation today, they point out that ‘from a black and white point of view’, the midfielder’s name has ‘returned to fashion’.
That’s why they went to speak to the player’s agent, João Santos. The representative, however, made it clear that the player’s wish is to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond his current deal.
“I haven’t talked to Juve, but I know of their interest in Jorginho,” João Santos told Calcio Mercato.
“We have a contract with Chelsea until 2023 and it is a particular moment for the club, where there are no negotiations, also because the market is blocked both in entry and in exit. If the situation unfolds, the priority will be to deal with the renewal. Should Chelsea fail to renew their contract, then we will listen to all the teams involved.”
Calcio Mercato still points out that Juventus are not the only club interested in taking Jorginho away from Chelsea.
They recall the player was recently linked to Inter Milan and AC Milan, with rumours also about Spanish clubs and PSG, ‘without neglecting the eyes of the Premier League’. So even if the midfielder decides to leave the Blues, Juve would face a huge competition for his signing.
