Over the past week or so, we’ve seen a number of reports claiming that Chelsea are interested in Stanislav Lobotka.

It makes sense, after all, since N’Golo Kanté has been injured since the start of the season and Denis Zakaria doesn’t appear to be in Graham Potter’s plans.

Not only that, but the Slovakia international has been in fine form for Napoli, as he has been a key member of their success under Luciano Spalletti, as his side currently top both Serie A and a Champions League group consisting of the likes of Liverpool and Ajax.

Coincidentally, this Chelsea interest also comes amid contract renewal talks between the player and the Italian club.

Regardless, the story of the Stamford Bridge side wanting him continue on Friday, as Calciomercato report the player hasn’t gone ‘unnoticed by several Premier League clubs, primarily Chelsea’, who are said to have ‘made enquiries with the player’s entourage’.

This comes after Ciro Venerato stated Lobotka’s agent had received phone calls from Manchester City and the Blues, as well as a report claiming the London club came close to signing Lobotka for €25m in the summer.

With Todd Boehly deciding to completely revamp Chelsea these days, this is believable, but, then again, they could be used to twist Napoli’s arm into giving their star that tiny bit more money in his new contract.
