For the past couple of weeks, the future of Lucas Biglia has been a big deal in the Rome-based press, as AC Milan continue to try and get a deal done for the Argentinean midfielder.
The fact the Dutch defensive midfielder has already played in Serie A is a huge boost for the Italian club, and, while we could only speculate as to what Middlesbrough wanted for their player in the past, Il Tempo on Tuesday have a price.
According to the Italian newspaper, Middlesbrough would only be asking for around €10m for the 26-year-old, which seems a bit low considering they spent just under £13m on him less than a year ago.
Of course, their drop to the Championship certainly has an impact on the price, but you’d at least expect Boro to want to make their money back.
And that’s exactly what Corriere dello Sport think is happening, as they report that Middlesbrough are asking for €13m, which Lazio aren’t prepared to pay.
The second Italian newspaper explain that an agreement has been reached with the player, but that the Serie A side don’t want to pay that much for him, with the operation now on standby.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens, but if they are getting around €20m for Lucas Biglia, we can’t see spending €13m on a 26-year-old being a problem for Lazio.
