Seemingly unhappy with the right-backs currently at Manchester United, Erik ten Hag wants Denzel Dumfries.
This has been a line pushed by the Italian media for quite some time, with neither Aaron Wan-Bissaka nor Diogo Dalot seemingly fully convincing the Dutch manager, which is why he has turned his attention to his compatriot, whom he reportedly rates a lot.
Formerly of PSV Eindhoven until he moved to Inter last year, Dumfries did well in his first season in Italy as Achraf Hakimi’s replacement, which has caught the eye of a few clubs.
Manchester United are supposedly one of those, and it appears a first offer could be on its way, according to L’Interista.
The website, claiming the news as an exclusive, report the right wing-back ‘has been targeted by some Premier League clubs’.
Not only that, but ‘one of these, presumably Manchester United, is ready to offer €30m for his transfer’; a fee that would see the Serie A club double their money in the space of 12 months or so.
It’s certainly one to keep an eye on, because we all know the Red Devils are preparing a mini-revolution this summer, and a number of moves are expected.
While the right-back position wasn’t the main cause for concern last year, it seems Ten Hag might have highlighted it as something he wants improved ahead of his first season in charge at Old Trafford.
