Benfica midfielder Alfa Semedo is close to joining Preston North End, the Portuguese media reports today.
Newspaper Record writes that negotiations between the clubs are ‘very advanced’, and the 23-year-old should move to the Championship side on a one-year loan deal.
It’s claimed that Benfica manager Jorge Jesus doesn’t count on the player for this season, and that’s why he should be loaned for the third time in a row.
The outlet sounds so confident about the deal that they say it should be concluded and announced by Preston in the coming hours.
Alfa Semedo obviously has some experience in the Championship, as he spent the last season on loan at Nottingham Forest.
Record had already written yesterday that the player was close to returning to the Championship, but they couldn’t name the club at that time.
Now it seems Preston North End didn’t have a lot of competition to get the midfielder.
