‘Tottenham are in Lisbon and are already talking to the club’

That’s what Portuguese newspaper O Jogo writes on their front page today, as Spurs representatives would have travelled to the country to sign Adrien Silva from Sporting CP.

The problem is: Bruno de Carvalho isn’t there. The club president is currently on honeymoon, and should be joining the preseason squad in Switzerland over the weekend.

Of course there are still some Sporting representatives in the Portuguese capital, as well as Adrien’s agents. They will take care of the business for now, and listen to what Tottenham have to offer.

As recalled by O Jogo today, Tottenham have already offered €20m for the midfielder, which wasn’t enough.

Sporting are demanding €30m from Tottenham and are unlikely to give a discount.

It’s said that things will only be really decided when Bruno de Carvalho is back from Switzerland and gets back to business.

We doubt it.

Show Sporting €30m and see if the president doesn’t take the first flight back to Portugal.

The whole Adrien Silva to Tottenham rumour has had parts very hard to believe. Daniel Levy sending a representative to Lisbon, knowing the main man isn’t around, is perhaps another one.
