We all know the Colombian national team is full of stars these days. Just in last night’s match against Chile, they had the likes of Juan Cuadrado, James Rodriguez and Falcao Garcia on the pitch.

However, it turns out it’s Bournemouth’s Jefferson Lerma who gets some big compliments from the local media following the 2-2 draw.

Outlet Marca brings a story today where they highlight the great performance he had last night, which started with him opening the score.

The most interesting thing in their article is the headline, where they clearly have a go at Bournemouth, claiming Lerma should be at a club with bigger aspirations.

“Lerma vindicates himself with Colombia: he has a Premier League level, not a Second”, they say, referring to the Championship’s tier.

Lerma played for 90 minutes in both of Colombia’s games in this international break, and is now considered to be the boss in their midfield.

During the summer, the 25-year-old wasn’t only linked to Premier League sides, but to clubs from Serie A as well.

He ended up staying at Bournemouth, where he has two goals and one assist in five appearances this season so far.
