Although it seems that Diogo Leite is staying at FC Porto this season, the youngster continues to be linked to Premier League clubs.

Portuguese newspaper A Bola has a big story today talking about his preseason, as the 19-year-old is preparing to have his first year as a professional for the club.

But they also recall that Leite has been linked to Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool, and that’s a concern for the Liga NOS champions.

That’s why Porto recently protected him with a new contract, also including a new release clause, which would now be of €15m.

That’s a bit strange to read, because many reports and websites such as Transfermarkt claim that this clause is actually €25m. So maybe Leite could be cheaper than expected.

A Bola state the player’s agent, Antonio Araujo, continues to receive many contacts from clubs. They just don’t make it clear if it’s still Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool who are insisting.

Back in May, claims from Portugal said that Arsenal were ‘ready’ to trigger Leite’s release clause, but the story hasn’t had any updates so far. That was one of the few articles that referred to his clause as of €15m.
