It’s now been ten months since Oscar has left Chelsea to make a move to China, where he signed for Shanghai SIPG in a €60m deal.
With over 200 appearances for the Blues, the Brazilian had a decent spell in London, but had to leave the club given Chelsea were very keen to get the Chinese money.
Oscar has spoken to website Premier League Brasil this week, and besides recalling the four and a half years he had at Chelsea, he talked about a possible return to his only club in Europe.
“As for rivals, the derbies against Tottenham and against Arsenal are the two coolest derbies to play away from home. But I always did well, especially against Arsenal, I always played well. Against Tottenham too, I always scored against them.
“But the teams that were very difficult to play against, away from home, were Manchester City and Manchester United. I think it’s the two games that were very difficult to face off.”
Regarding his departure from Chelsea, Oscar claims there were two reasons for it: “For the offer I had, for the situation that was happening to me at the club, too.
“For having started the season playing every game as a starter. The first eight games I played very well, then I had a League Cup game that I left, the team lost and it changed.
“Then he (Antonio Conte) changed the team’s way of playing in a 3-4-3 and I didn’t play anymore, I didn’t have a position to play, because I’m a more offensive midfielder and then it changed a lot. So I decided to leave too, but I left the doors open”.
And asked if he would return to the Premier League someday, he made it sure to give Chelsea his first option: “Yes, I would go back! I’m still young, I’m still 26 years old. Who knows in two, three years I would return to the Premier League….”
“I would be very happy. And preferably for Chelsea, who opened the doors for me, to return.”
