It’s no secret that Tottenham are looking for a striker this January after it was announced Harry Kane would be out for the foreseeable future.

So far, three names have seriously been mentioned in Willian José, Krzysztof Piatek and Islam Slimani, while Haris Seferovic has also appeared as an option in recent days.

Spurs remain a very attractive destination for players, especially with José Mourinho at the helm, and it’s no surprise to see some of said targets pushing for a move there.

Willian José has already managed to alienate half of the Basque country with his behaviour since learning of the Premier League club’s interest, and even if Slimani isn’t quite there yet, he’s made his preference clear.

That’s what Le Buteur are reporting on Tuesday, explaining that while Stade de Reims and Inter have also come forward for his services, the Algeria international has made it clear he’s hoping for a return to the Premier League ‘and more precisely Tottenham, where he has more chance to play’.

The outlet do also talk of Manchester United wanting the striker, but there is certainly more competition there with Anthony Martial standing in his way.

However, Monaco still aren’t giving the green light for a departure, as they would need to replace him, meaning that until they do, he’ll remain in the principality.
