Oumar Solet is reportedly close to agreeing a contract with the Pozzo family after leaving Red Bull Salzburg last week by mutual agreement.
Tuttomercato Web have reported on the Pozzo’s pursuit of the 24-year-old and they say the player is attending Udinese’s Coppa Italia Cup clash with Salernitana this evening.
It’s claimed a deal is close to bring in Solet on a free transfer, but it’s not known for certain whether he will end up with Udinese or Watford.
Watford brought in Antonio Tikvic, Vakoun Bayo and Festy Ebosele on loan from Udinese during the summer transfer window due to the connection with the Pozzo family and Gianluca Nani.
We covered recent comments Nani made about the January transfer window, and the Udinese and Watford sporting director said he would be looking to sign players for both clubs.
It is expected Solet will initially end up at Udinese, but with the Pozzo and Nani connections a move to Watford can’t be ruled out in the future, even in the January window.
Solet made 27 appearances last season for Red Bull Salzburg, scoring two goals.
He can’t actually register with either Udinese or Watford until January because of his contract was terminated after the windows in both countries had closed.
