With Cesare Casadei leaving Inter Milan to join Chelsea on a €15m deal this summer, the Italian media continues to be curious about how the youngster is doing with the Blues.
The midfielder initially joined the club’s U21 side, where he has three goals in six appearances, and that start is commented today by newspaper Tuttosport.
The outlet (via FC Inter News) today highlights that Casadei’s ‘adventure’ at Chelsea started in a ‘positive way’.
The interesting information on their story is that it’s claimed the Blues are ‘increasingly convinced they have a potential champion on their hands’.
It’s also claimed that manager Graham Potter is ‘constantly updated’ about the player’s progress in the youth ranks.
Casadei is 19, and since he signed a contract with the Blues until 2028, there’s still plenty of time for him to impress at the club’s academy before finally getting a chance in the first team.
However, with Potter apparently giving him some special attentions, perhaps a few more good displays from the midfielder will convince the coach to try him out in the first-team sooner rather than later, especially with some cup fixtures set to take place after the World Cup.
