West Ham United’s potential bid for Vitória Guimarães star Marcus Edwards is getting some positive echoes in the Portuguese press.
This story was started by the English media this week, with claims saying the Hammers could make an offer worth £18m for the winger.
Now as newspaper O Jogo writes about it, they say there’s a reasonable chance for this transfer to happen, with their sources claiming it has ‘may have legs to walk’.
They report that Vitória Guimarães ‘aren’t closing the door’ to a transfer, as long as the club get an offer they find compatible with the player’s potential.
Marcus Edwards moved to Portugal last summer on a free move, with Tottenham Hotspur keeping 50% of a future sale.
Even though he only has one goal and two assists this season so far, his performances have been enough to link him to the likes of Crystal Palace, Fulham and Leeds United as well.
