With long term injuries to Dani Alves and Leonardo Bonucci, Juventus have been forced to look for defenders in the transfer market.

As expected, a number of players have been linked to the Turin club by the Italian media, and it’s difficult to say if the interest is genuine.

One of the names being mentioned repeatedly is Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic. The Serbian defender has lost his place to Victor Moses under Antonio Conte, and has emerged as a target for Juventus.

Ivanovic has a contract until next summer at Chelsea, and there are no talks of a renewal yet. According to a latest report on Calciomercato, Ivanovic could be a ‘possible immediate reshuffle’ for Juventus.

There are several other names being mentioned, and there seems to be no clarity on the rumours yet.

Ivanovic has been repeatedly linked with a Chelsea, with both Barcelona and Juventus linked. That sounds very fortunate for the Serbian defender, given his form in recent times at club level. The interest builds almost entirely around the idea that he’d be free or very cheap, so isn’t as flattering as it may initially seem.

Any possible winter move depends entirely on Conte’s wishes, and he’d probably only sanction the exit if he’s able to bring another defender in to his Chelsea squad this winter.
