On Saturday, website Football London reported Queens Park Rangers’ chase for the Portuguese manager Rui Almeida.

Their story said the Championship side have made contact to sign the 49-year-old, although the talks are in the very early stages for now.

Now it turns out that the Portuguese press reports the chase as well. Record claims to have confirmed the information which originally came from England.

The outlet says Almeida is part of the ‘list of candidates’ QPR have for the job, and contacts between club and manager are underway.

Almeida is currently in charge of Troyes, and has been doing a great campaign in the French second division, currently in the fight for promotion.

After a few jobs as assistant manager in Portugal and abroad, Almeida started his career as a senior manager in France. He’s been in charge of Red Star, Bastia and now Troyes, where he has a contract until 2020.
