This week, we’ve seen reports from the English media reporting Wolverhampton Wanderers’ interest in signing Sporting midfielders Matheus Nunes and João Palhinha.
Since the likes of João Moutinho and Ruben Neves could be on their way out of Molineux this summer, it was said that Bruno Lage would like to have the Lions’ duo to replace them.
Unsurprisingly, that rumour is already being covered by the Portuguese media. And today, newspaper O Jogo comes up showing the scenario for each Sporting player.
Regarding João Palhinha, it’s said Sporting want €30m for his move. It’s pointed out that the Braga player was previously chased by Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United ‘continue to follow him attentively’.
Regarding Matheus Nunes, it seems he’d be a little more expensive, as he’d cost €40m. The Lions would also find it harder to let him go, since there’s no replacement for him in the squad.
So with the reports from England saying Wolves would like to spend €60m on the duo, perhaps it’d take a little more to convince Sporting to let both go, especially because they’re two important players in the middle of the park.
