Portuguese newspaper A Bola brings today an interesting full page story about Wolves interest in the Porto winger Yacine Brahimi.
The outlet writes that the 28-year-old ‘has now been put in the Wolves radar’, with Nuno Espírito Santo’s side being able to pay €30m for him.
The news come as a perfect fit for Porto, since their intention is to sell Brahimi for €30m this summer. The player is currently protected by a €60m release clause, but as his contract expires next year, half of that amount is what they’re looking for in this transfer window.
A Bola writes that Brahimi has a big wish of moving to the Premier League, and his Algerian compatriots Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani keep telling him to do so.
The story looks solid, but we wonder if it’s an exclusive or if A Bola was just rewriting what has been said in the international press this week.
We say that because we’ve read Portuguese newspaper Record this morning as well, and they also have a short paragraph about Wolves and Brahimi. They credit it to Algerian outlet Le Buteur, who had a story crediting the English press yesterday.
Le Buteur were writing the exact same information, saying Wolves would pay €30m for Brahimi, who would be happy to move to the Premier League.
That’s why we aren’t buying A Bola’s information for now, unless they, or any other local Portuguese newspaper, come up claiming an exclusive in the next few days.
